Hit Send: My First Email Group Thingy
Isn’t it high time you started being the kind of emailer who sends emails?
Because email marketing isn’t just for mega-brands with marketing teams so big that if you laid out all their intestines end-to-end, they’d wrap around Earth 13 times.
Email marketing works for small business owners too.
And I want to annihilate the idea that email marketing is too complex, clever or all-consuming to pick up and carry on calmly and consistently when you’re piloting your small business, Han Solo 🌌
Why now?
Because I’ve seen you, boo.
Ear pressed up against that tightly locked ✨email marketing✨ vault door, sweat accumulating on your top lip like a wet lil moustache, while you spin out trying to work out the perfect combination of words to say and send out in your email cos you KNOW once you’ve cracked the code, you’ll find:
🗝️ A closer connection with your audience
🗝️ Deeper brand loyalty
🗝️ More opportunities to sell your stuff without some wanky 6-fig influencer (it’s Jenna Kutcher) cock-blocking your pitch with their factory production line of endless offers.
🗝️ The ability to take your foot off the social media pedal and kick your feet up in the air as you joyfully squeal down a hill on your bike (cos you don’t have to be on your phone and laptop 24/7, SHOWING UP on Instagram or wtv).
I know your noggin is filled with Nelly (ft Kelly Rowland) levels of Dilemma.
🥴 I don’t even have a list. Where do I find people to email? Should I add them to this Excel sheet on my Nokia phone?
🕰️ How do I write and send this email without it taking 2 hours?
🙅 Unsubscribes. What if they hate me? What if I get like, 3 unsubscribes every time I send an email?
🫀 Vulnerability. What if I pour my heart into my email and NO ONE replies?
📈 How do I grow my list once I’ve started?
😴 I don’t want to be boring. How do I stop my emails from landing in that cursed pile of unread newsletters?
💸 Money. I need this to make me money. How do I turn readers into paying clients?
😿 Ugh, why bother? No one reads anymore.
🏃🏾 I can’t keep this up. How the hell am I going to generate ideas all the time?
📮How will I keep up an emailing habit?
And finally…
Do I have to do this forever, forever, forever, ever? Forever, ever? #msjackson
And I know no matter what you doooooo all you think about is…
⏱️ How long it takes to write a good email (and also while we’re here, WTF is a ‘good’ email?!!?!)
🤯 Whether you’ve even got the headspace for ANOTHER marketing thing on your endless to-do list.
🍆 Emailmarketingsnob89’s cryptic Threads about how you need to get your eggs out of the social media basket NOW because look how quickly they took down TikTok!!!*!11!@£111
🥺 How vulnerable and uncomfortable it feels when you think about sitting down and…writing a letter to your potential clients? You def’ didn’t see yourself doing this Lady Whistledown shyt when you started your biz.
🤡 How a fascist oligarchy is running ‘Merica, and all the tech bros at the inauguration the other day look like they’re 1 board meeting away from developing a platform-wide orgy—nisational revolution (that we didn’t consent to, sign up for, or want).
💌 How you’ve always wanted to give email marketing a serious go, but it’s always felt like a big ol’ black box of intimidating buzzwords like ‘automate’ and ‘nurture sequence’ and ‘click-through rate’.
And if that’s you, and you’re motivated to make 2025 the year you say smug things like I just scheduled my newsletter for this week and email marketing is actually quite fun once you get started?! Then I think you’ll shit the bed when you see what’s waiting for you inside Hit Send: My First Email Group Thingy.
💳 The price? £155.
📆 The dates? 17th Feb - 14th March
📖 The group thingy details:
4-weeks. 8 emails. Templates. Formulas. Frameworks. Challenges. More prizes than a vending machine filled with mysterious plastic balls.
Join me in your inbox and over on Slack for 4-weeks of focused e-mail marketing action so you can proudly usher your audience under the velvet rope guarding your business’s private chambers and give them the inbox experience they’ve been waiting for.
The first round of Hit Send has been capped at 25 emailers. I want to ensure I have time and energy to provide 1-1 email feedback to every emailer who wants my eyes on their copy, and I can’t do this if there are 100 participants. This is why Hit Send will always be a bit of an intimate situation 🤗
Payment is upfront and non-refundable. This is a self-paced course. Doing it during the 4-weeks I run it ‘LIVE’ means you get the fun community bit on Slack, but even without it, the lessons are all yours forever, forever, forever, ever? Forever, ever? #msjackson
Hit Send is a good idea if…
✅ You are motivated to develop a mailing list and write and send emails.
✅ You are open to instruction, like to open funny emails, and are open to learning a new skill (or improving an old one)
✅ You’re a doer, and you like to take action. I’ll be with you via email and Slack and will even privately review and share feedback on your copy during dedicated office hours (via email). All you have to do is be willing to DO the tasks I set and HIT SEND at the end.
✅ You want to build an enjoyable, more consistent relationship with email. If you only send 1 email every 6-months, you won’t see results, but if you open every email I send and give each worksheet, template, or task a good ol’ try, then the emails will write themselves (they bloody well won’t, but you know what I mean). Less slog, more giddy chair-dancing at your desk, and on the other side of this 4-week group thingy, you’ll end up with a welcome sequence and more!
✅ You like my style. I’ll be teaching the same brand of email marketing I’ve successfully used across agencies, client-side, and in my own business for the past 14 years.
Hit Send is a bad idea if…
❌ You want me to write your emails for you. I usually charge over £200 per email and over £1000 for a sales sequence, so the value of this 4-week course is like stealing my iPhone on Oxford Street in broad daylight lolol
❌ You don’t want to do email marketing. This is not a trick statement. I don’t believe in forcing people to use marketing channels they don’t like, love or at least fancy the look of.
❌ You think writing emails is “the right thing to do” or because some nobhead scared you off social with a post about how “Instagram is dead” (it’s not. And if you prefer marketing there, stay there). I’m not here to force email marketing down anyone’s throat cos that’s predatory marketing and a big no-no from Nadia.
❌ You hate writing. You will have to write emails. It’s a terrible idea to join Hit Send if you don’t want to write anything.
❌ You want technical advice about platforms, setup and design templates. You can set up Kit for free if you have under 1000 subs, so that’s my recommendation.
Oh frig, you want more information to help you decide, don’t you?
Fine, here’s a breakdown of our week-by-week schedule. Each week for the 4-week course, you’ll get 2 emails. A fun theory bit + a tool on a Monday, and a work-y bit on Wednesday or Thursday (haven’t decided yet).
Week 1: Setting your foundations: cos you can’t go round sending emails willy-nilly
Before we do the writing work, we do the brain work. I’ll introduce you to how the course works and how to get the most-est out of your hostess (me).
You’ll brand your newsletter (if you haven’t already done this), and we’ll define your audience and your email’s role in their life.
Week 2: The Welcome Sequence - your very first email system (awwww)
From defining the purpose to figuring out conversion, I’ll teach you how to nurture your new inbox friends at every stage of their journey with you (yes, even the bit BEFORE they land on your list). Then, you’ll map your sequence and get it written. I’m making this as easy and lightweight as possible for you to implement cos I want EVERYONE to have scheduled and/or sent emails by the time we’re done.
Week 3: Making email a habit
My big worry is you’ll do the welcome sequence or write a few emails…Then you’ll ditch the habit and go back to doom scrolling and buying shit off TikTok shop (maybe just me?), so we’ll lock in a habit, work on a process for finding flow, and plan the next 4-weeks of emails (I’m honestly too nice). We’ll also talk about lazy emails for when you can’t be assed to send anything, and we’ll do a SECRET Slack challenge (I’m not giving away everything!)
Week 4: So, how do I make my emails sell things?
You asked for it, and I’m delivering it. The final week is devoted to promotional emails and how to write non-squirmy pitches. I’ll share formulas and give you a final challenge to complete!
🛍️ Bonus bits
The more you get involved in the action-taking, the more you’ll be rewarded. I’ll be raffling off 2 Hotline spots AND 2 x 1-page copy edits (both worth much more than the actual course). I’ll have dedicated office hours on Slack where you can ask me questions and chat about challenges, progress and wins!
You’ll also enjoy a bit of that camaraderie that happens when you’re all lumped into the same thing together!
💌 Got questions?
Yeah, I’ve been a bit vague here because I don’t want jokers coming in here and swiping my entire curriculum before I’ve had a chance to enjoy it with you, but I’m happy to answer questions.
Just hit reply to the waitlist email.
I’ve added this FAQ section because I’ve had a few repeat questions since launching.
So this is a real FAQ block, and not 1 of those weird fake ones people come up with because their sales page template told them to.
Who is this course good for?
This course is suitable for service providers working B2C rather than B2B.
I know that for a lot of us, we might see our work as B2B because we are small business owners selling to OTHER small business owners, but usually, those businesses are only 1-person-big/only a few people, and not huge conglomerates with loads of departments and shareholders and complex products, etc, so I don’t consider this ‘B2B’ (the type of lessons I’d be teaching would differ if this were traditional B2B).
Is this worth doing if I already write emails for a living?
Yes, because even the most seasoned copywriters struggle to start and keep up a mailing list (which isn’t for a client!). I want you to develop a sustainable habit you’ll go ahead and continue once we’ve done the course. I’ll also share my 🪓 EMERGENCY EMAIL KIT 🪓 with ‘break glass when your brain is broke’ templates and prompts for when you can’t be arsed to write.
Will you rerun this if I can’t do it now?
If this first iteration is successful, I’d like to run Hit Send again this year, so I’ve created a waitlist for you to join if you’re interested. If you’re in Extremely Secret Email Club, you’ll be the first to know whenever I drop ANYTHING.
Hi mum-readers 👋
I know you’re frantically scanning this sales page still because (if you’re UK-based) there’s a short half-term in the middle of the course. I will obviously make sure the course material works around this because I have 2 tiny maniacs to look after too.
